How To Make Bacon Cream Cheese Roll Ups
This is a super easy and yummy treat to make with any meal or for any occasion! Here's how; INGREDIENTS: -8 slices of bacon -1 can of crescent rolls (8 rolls) -1 8 oz of softened cream cheese -3/4 Tbsp of garlic powder -3/4 Tbsp of onion powder -1 Tbsp parsley flakes -2 Tbsp of milk HOW TO MAKE; -Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees -Fry up your bacon, let cool and crumble - set aside -Put your cream cheese in a bowl -Add the bacon, dry ingredients and milk and mix thoroughly -Open you can of cresecent rolls and lay them out flat -Put a dollop of the mixture at the wider end of the roll -Roll them up and place in oven for 13 - 15 minutes -Let cool, serve and enjoy!
How to Make Caribbean Shrimp & Bacon Wrapped Pineapple
These skewers cooked on the grill are amazing! Sweet, juicy, smokey with that caribbean heat! YUM! Here's how to make them: INGREDIENTS: For the marinade -Place your shrimp in a zip lock bag -Add 2 Tbsp of Barrier Reef Seasoning (from Savory Spice Shop) --Add 6 Tbsp of olive oil -Add 4 Tbsp or white wine -Add 1 Tbsp of worcestshire sauce -Add 1 Tbsp of fresh squeezed lemon juice -A dash of salt Mix the shrimp and all ingredients. Refrigerate for 30 min - to an hour. No longer though so you don't cook the shrimp in the bag from the lemon juice. NEXT: -Have your wooden skewers soaking in a cup for at least 30 minutes. -Cook your bacon strips - - until about half way done. Set aside to cool -Slice the pineapple into 1/4 wedges -Wrap each wedge with the bacon and put on skewer -Then add a shrimp to the skewer -Keep alternating the bacon wrapped pineapple wedge and shrimp. -Cook on a grill at medium heat. Maybe one minute per side (or until shrimp is pink and bacon done) -Place on a platter and squeeze half a lime over the skewers. Serve and enjoy!
Turkey Bacon Burger
How to make a healthy and delicious bacon burger! INGREDIENTS: -1 pound of lean ground turkey -5 or 6 slices of your favorite bacon -1/4 cup panko -1/2 Tsp black pepper -1 Tsp garlic powder -1 Tsp onion powder -Low carb whole wheat wraps -A few slices of red onion -Handful of organic arugula FOR THE BACON AOLI: -1/2 cup greek yogurt -Crumbled bacon bits -1 Tsp garlic powder -1 to 2 Tbsp dijon mustard -1 Tbsp of brown sugar -The juice of half a lemon -Dash of salt INSTRUCTIONS: -Add the panko, black pepper, garlic and onion powders & bacon bits to your ground turkey in a bowl. -MIx them all together with your hands and form 4 patties -Place the burgers on the grill or a fry pan at medium heat -Cook all sides and cut in half and stand the burgers up to cook inside -Meanwhile you can make the sauce (pref the night before) -Add the garlic powder, bacon bits, dijon, salt, brown sugar and lemon juice to your greek yogurt in a small mixing bowl. Blend well. Refrigerate overnight if possible or for at least a few hours. -Then take your wrap and spread the aoli on the wrap. -Place a handful of arugula on the wrap. -Place two turkey burger halves - line them up in the wrap -Top burger with more aoli and a few red onion slices -Put the wrap together and serve!
French Onion Bacon Dip
Happy Father's Day! I used to eat regular ole French Onion Dip all the time with my Daddy. We have put a little twist to this classic dip by adding bacon! INGREDIENTS: -3-4 strips of bacon -1 onion -2 cups of sour cream (or greek yogurt) -1 Tsp of garlic powder -1 Tsp of smoked paprika -Pinch of salt -Some flat leaf parsley -Veggies or chips HOW TO MAKE: -Slice your bacon in little half inch pieces and fry them up -Leave bacon drippings in pan -Slice onion thinly -Begin to saute onions on med heat to begin carmelization process -Stir frequently, may take 20-30 minutes to carmelize -Meanwhile start dip, -Put 2 cups of sour cream in a bowl -Add the garlic powder, smoked paprika and some parsley -Mix -Add bacon - mix. -After 20 minuutes or so lower heat on onions. -Once onions are done, mix them into dip -Let set in fridge for at least 4 hours. -Garnish with more bacon and parsley and serve with veggies or chips!
