How to Make Bacon Wrapped Avocados
Quick, easy and yummy! Here's how you can make this appetizer: INGREDIENTS: -2 avocados -8 thin sliced bacon strips -1 lemon or lime FOR THE RANCH DIP: -1/2 Tsp of salt -1/2 Tsp of dill weed -1/4 cup of sour cream -1/4 cup of mayo -1/2 Tsp of onion powder -1/2 Tsp of garlic powder -1/2 Tsp of thyme DIRECTIONS: -Preheat your oven to 360 degrees -Cut your avocados in half and remove pit. Cut into quarters -Sprinkle salt on the quarters and then squeeze some lemon juice on them -Wrap each avocado quarter with a piece of bacon and rest on baking sheet -Place in oven for 20 minutes FOR THE RANCH DIP -In a small bowl mix the sour cream, mayo, salt, dill, onion powder, garlic powder and thyme. --Refrigerate. AFTER 20 MINUTES -Remove the avocados and flip them over. -Put back in oven for another 20 minutes. -Remove from oven again and flip again -Put back in oven for a few minutes at high broil -Remove from oven (if bacon done to your liking) and place on platter with ranch dip and serve. ENJOY!
Bacon Wrapped Chicken Wings
Super easy and super delicious! Here's how to make these! INGREDIENTS: -Chicken wings -Equal amount of thin sliced bacon -1 Tsp of garlic poweder -1 Tsp of salt -1 Tsp of smoked paprika -3 Tbsp of brown sugar -1/2 cup of bourbon/whiskey -1/2 cup of ketchup -A dash of your favorite BBQ sauce -2 Tsp of soy sauce -2 Tbsp of dijon mustrd -1 Tbsp ofrRed pepper flakes DIRECTIONS: -Preheat oven to 350 degrees -Place wings in a bowl and add the first 3 ingredients. Mix well. -Wrap each wing with one piece of bacon and place on baking rack/sheet -Put in oven for 30 minutes, then make the sauce -In a sauce pan mix the ketchup, bourbon, bbq sauce, soy sauce, dijon mustard and red pepper flakes. -Keep on low heat and stir constantly. It will eventually thicken up. -After 30 minutes, remove the wings and flip them over -Put back in oven for another 30 minutes -Remove and brush sauce over wings -Put back in oven for 5 more minutes. -Remove, place on platter and serve with reserved sauce for dipping! ENJOY!
Bacon, Blackberry, Brie Grilled Cheese
This sandwich has it all! Sweet, savory, crunchy and delicious! The whole family will love this treat! INGREDIENTS: -Thick cut bacon -French bread (or your favorite bread - cut thick slices) -Blackberry preserves -Brie cheese -1 garlic clove -Butter DIRECTIONS: -Fry up enough bacon for 2 strips per sandwich -While bacon is cooking, slice your bread into thick slices -Cut up your Brie and remove the casing -Once done, remove to paper towel to blot excess grease -Reserve 2 Tbsps of bacon drippings in fry pan -Spread the Blackberry preserves on one slice of bread -Place 2 strips of bacon over the preserves -Place enough Brie to cover the slice of bread -Spread the preserves on the 2nd slice of bread and place on top of sandwich -Put a pad of butter into the pan with the bacon drippings -Place the sandwich in the pan and cook first side until golden brown -After you have flipped over one side, rub the garlic clove on the outside of the cooked half -When the 2nd half is done, rub garlic on that side of the sandwich -Slice and serve. 2020 Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival Atlanta, GA
We had a great time at this festival this past weekend! It was a little breezy and chilly but we toughed it out to check out the fabulous, beer, bourbon and BBQ (and bacon) that they had at this annual event! Tasty food, thirst quenching drinks and fun people makes this a super event you won't want to miss next year!
How to Make Bacon & Bean Stew
Omigosh! The hubs raved about how delicious this stew turned out! It's hearty and flavorful! It will become one of your favorites! Check it out! INGREDIENTS: -1 lb of bacon - cut in one inch strips -1 cup of chopped onion -3 celery stalks - chopped -3 carrots - chopped -5 or 6 cloves of garlic - diced -2 Tbsp of tomato paste -1/2 cup of flour -8 cups of chicken stock/broth -2 or 3 cans of Cannellini beans-drained & rinsed -4 cups of baby spinach - rough chopped -1 bay leaf -Salt & pepper to taste DIRECTIONS: -In a soup pot, fry up your bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towel. Reserve 2 Tbsp in pot. -Then cook your onions, carrots and celery. Cook until soft. About 8 minutes. -Then add the garlic and tomato paste. Coof for another minute. -Slowly add the flour and mix/cook together with veggies. -Slowly add 1 to 2 cups of the chicken stock and keep stirring. This will turn into a thick gravy. -Then add the rest of the chicken stock (the other 6 cups). Add the beans and the bay leaf.Salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another 10 minutes. -Remove the bay leaf and add the baby spinach and stir. Turn off heat and let cool for 5 minutes. -After 5 minutes, ladel into a bowl and sprinkle with the bacon pieces. -Serve and enjoy!
Bacon Shrimp Corn Chowder
This is a hearty meal that will make you smile! Quite simple to make and gives your everyday corn chowder a surf n turf twist! INGREDIENTS: -5 or 6 slices of smoked bacon -2 cups of diced yellow onions -1 Tbsp of fresh garlic -1 Tsp of smoked paprika -1/2 Tsp of thyme -1/2 Tsp of parsley flakes -Sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes (more if you like spicey)! -2 1/2 cups of frozen corn -3 cups of chicken broth -1 cup of half and half -Salt & pepper taste INSTRUCTIONS: -Fry the bacon and remove to drain grease. Leave Tbsp of drippings in pot. -After bacon is cool - break up into small pieces. -Add the shrimp and cook until pink. Remove and drain off fat. Keep drippings in pot. -Add the onions and garlic and sautee until translucent. -Then add your dry seasonings and mix/stir. -Then add the frozen corn, chicken broth and half & half. -Bring to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer for 15 minutes. -If you have an immersion blender use it on half the soup. If not, just take 2 cups and put in a blender and pulse. Hold the lid so you do not get boiling soup on you! -Add your shrimp back to the chowder and serve. -Garnish with your bacon! ENJOY!
Bourbon Bacon BBQ Chicken Kebabs
Incredibly delicious! This is a must try! INGREDIENTS: For the sauce: -8 oz of your favorite BBQ sauce -1/8 cup of your favorite bourgon For the rub : -6 slices of bacon -1 to 2 pounds of chicken -2 Tsp of kosher salt -1 Tsp of ground white pepper -1/2 Tsp of garlic powder -1/2 Tsp of onion powder -2 Tbsp of paprika -3 Tbsp of dark brown sugar -1 Tbsp of smoked paprika INSTRUCTIONS: -Soak your wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes beforehand -In a bowl whisk the BBQ sauce and bourbon together, set aside -Heat your grill -Cut your chicken breasts into bite sized pieces -Chop your bacon in 1 to half inch pieces -Put the bacon and all dry ingredients into a food processor and pulse -Coat the paste all over your chicken -Skewer the chicken -Place on grill - 5 minutes on first side -Flip over after 5 minutes and slather BBQ sauce mix on kebabs -Flip over again after 5 minutes and slater sauce again -Grill each side for another minute a piece - - or until done Serve and enjoy!
