Destination Bacon is traveling the country to find the most delicious bacon dishes at restaurants/diners, pubs, bakeries and festivals. We are also making tasty bacon recipes and sharing them with you so you can be in "hog heaven", too!
We Made Bacon Quiche!
One of the all time favorite dishes to make for breakfast, brunch - really anytime! This is a quick, simple recipe that anyone can whip up. Here's how we made ours; INGREDIENTS: -7 strips of bacon (I'll use more next time -lol) -6 eggs -2 green onion stalks -1 pie crust -3/4 cup of half & half (or heavy cream) -1/2 red bell pepper -1 cup of shredded cheese ( I used sharp cheddar and mozzarella) -1/2 Tsp salt -1/2 Tsp fresh black pepper -1 Tsp garlic powder -1 Tsp onion powder DIRECTIONS: -Preheat your oven to 375 degrees -If using a pre-made pie crust, poke holes on the bottom with a fork -Let it bake for about 10 minutes Then -Fry your bacon, put on plate with paper towel , when cool crumble -In a mixing bowl, add the eggs, onions, heavy cream, cheese, bacon, sale & pepper and any other seasonings you like (I used garlic powder and onion powder) -Mix well -Once the pie crust is cool, pour the mixture into the shell (only 3/4 full) -Place in oven and bake for about 45 minutes (or until done. keep checking.) Let cool and enjoy!
We made Bacon Caramel Brownies
These were so moist, chocolatey and delicious! You need to try this recipe! Here's how we made ours; INGREDIENTS: For the bacon: -8 strips -1/4 cup of brown sugar For the brownie mix: -11 oz of dark chocolate -1 cup of softened unsalted butter -1 1/2 cups of sugar -1/2 cup light brown sugar -5 large eggs -2 Tsp vanilla extract -1 1/4 cups of all purpose flour -1 Tsp of salt -2 Tbs of dark unsweetened cocoa powder -Caramel sauce for drizzling DIRECTIONS: -Put your bacon in a ziplock bag and add the 1/4 cup of brown sugar. -Mix until well coated. -Place bacon strips on a baking rack -Place in a 375 degree oven for 15-20 minutes (depending upon the thickness of your bacon) -Remove, let cool and chop into small bite sized pieces -In a mixing bowl, whisk the flour, salt and cocoa powder together -Break up the chocolate into small pieces -Slice butter into small pads -In a microwavable bowl, combine the chocolate and unsalted butter -Microwave the two in 30 second increments until totally melted. Stir -Add the sugars, mix well and let cool -Once cool, add 3 of the 5 eggs and mix with a spatula -Fold the flour mixture into the chocolate mix -Grease a 9" x 13" pan with butter, then line it with parchment paper -Pour half of the mixture into the pan -Drizzle the caramel sauce and then sprinkle half of your bacon on top -Top it with the second half of the brownie mixture -Repeat caramel sauce and bacon sprinkles -Place in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Rotate at the 15 minute mark -Bake until toothpick comes out pretty clean -Let cool completely and cut into squares -Serve and enjoy!
Easy Bacon Wrapped Corn Dogs
This is so much fun and yummy! Here's how we made them; INGREDIENTS: -Some corn dogs -Bacon for each dog -Oil for frying -Toothpicks to hold bacon onto dogs INSTRUCTIONS: -Heat oil to about 350 degrees -Wrap each corn dog with your favorite bacon -Secure bacon with a toothpick -Deep fry for around 5-6 minutes -Keep rotating/turning them in the pan -Serve with your favorite condiment - ENJOY!

The 2022 BaCON Festival in Cleveland, TN just keeps getting bigger and better! So much delicious food and all types of vendors with arts/crafts, products, services, etc. Games, live music, mechanical hog riding, petting zoo and more! What a great way to spend a Saturday!
We Made Bacon Crab Cakes!
Scrumptious, delicious and easy to make. Super easy to switch up ingredients, too. You've got to try these! Here's how we made ours; INGREDIENTS: -8 ounces of lump crab meat -7 or 8 strips of bacon -1/2 cup of panko -1 large egg -2 Tbsp mayo -1 Tbsp Tiger Tail mustard (horseradish mustard) or your fave -1 Tsp Cajun seasonings -Oil for frying TARTAR SAUCE: -I combines some sour cream, chopped dill pickles and squeezed some lemon juice. Dash of fresh cracked black pepper and salt. DIRECTIONS: -Cook your bacon, let cool on a paper towel. Chop when cooled. -Heat up the oil in another fry pan -Mix your crab meat, panko, bacon and egg in a bowl -In a separate bowl, mix the mayo, mustard and cajun seasonings -Add the sauce to the crabmeat and form patties -Place the patties in the oil and fry each side until golden brown -Remove and let drain on paper towel. -Platter up and serve with tarter sauce or your fave condiment!
Bacon Sriracha Potato Salad Recipe
This is an easy and delicious potato salad with a kick! You can dial the heat up or down. Your choice! You need to try this! INGREDIENTS: -1 pound of red potatoes (original recipe calls for 3 pounds, so adjust) -4 slices of black pepper bacon (or your favorite) -1 Tbsp white vinegar -1/8 Tsp salt -1/2 cup mayo -1/8 cup sour cream (can substitute with greek yogurt) -1 Tbsp sriracha sauce -1 green onion - Smoked paprika (to taste) INSTRUCTIONS -Wash and place potatoes in a pot of boiling water -Boil for 8 minutes or until fork tender -Fry or bake your bacon - when done set aside to cool -When potatoes are done, drain and pour the vinegar and salt on them -Set potatoes aside and let cool, then slice into bite sized pieces -Next make the dressing; -In a bowl mix the mayo, sour cream and sriracha -When bacon is cool, chop it up -Slice the green onion -When potatoes are cool, combine the dressing - fold it in -Then mix in your bacon, green onions and sprinkle the smoked paprika on top. -Serve and enjoy!
Easy Cabbage & Bacon Recipe
Super simple and super versatile. Can be a side dish or add some protein to turn it into a main entree! Here's how we made ours: INGREDIENTS -Half a cabbage -2-3 cloves of garlic -Half an onion (we used red and white) -6-7 strips of bacon -1/2 Tsp salt -1/2 Tsp pepper -1 Tsp smoked paprika INSTRUCTIONS -Cut up your bacon into half inch pieces and fry til done -Let bacon drain on paper towel. Reserve drippings in pan -Sautee cabbage in the bacon drippings -After a few minutes add salt, pepper, paprika -Cover with lid to let cabbage render faster -Add onions and continue to mix and render down -Add garlic stir for another minute -Add bacon and stir - let sit for a minute Platter and serve! Enjoy!
