Destination Bacon is traveling the country to find the most delicious bacon dishes at restaurants/diners, pubs, bakeries and festivals. We are also making tasty bacon recipes and sharing them with you so you can be in "hog heaven", too!
Bacon, Crab & Spinach Dip
Super delicious and great to make for any occasion! Versatile too so you can change up the ingredients to customize to your taste buds! Here 's how we made it; INGREDIENTS: -5-6 strips of bacon -8 oz of crab meat -8 oz of cream cheese -1 pkg of frozen spinach -1/4 of a red onion -2-3 garlic cloves -1/2 cup of mayo -1/2 lime (for the juice) -1/2 Tsp smoked paprika -Fresh cracked black pepper - Bread crumbs or panko for topping -1 green onion -1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese -1/4 cup of shaved parmesan cheese DIRECTIONS: -Preheat oven to 350 degrees -Fry the bacon, set aside on paper towels to drain -When bacon is cool - crumble into small pieces -Reserve some bacon grease and sautee onions and garlic -In a baking dish add the softened cream cheese, onions & garlic -Drain spinach well and add to mixture -Add crab meat and crumbled bacon (reserve a little of both for garnish) -Squeeze half a lime in the mixture -Add the smoked paprika and black pepper -Mix really well -Add some parmesan cheese and bread crumbs to the top -Bake for about 30 minutes -Remove from oven and add some mozzarella cheese to the top -Sprinkle the reserved bacon bits and crab meat to the top -Sprinkle the sliced green onion on top for additional garnish -Serve with sturdy crackers or veggies. Enjoy! You can use whatever you like in this versatile recipe! So add artichokes, change up the cheeses, add broccoli - whatevs! Do it people!
Bacon Corn Fritters
An old favorite with a bacon twist! These bacon corn fritters with a honey mustard dipping sauce are delicious and filling! Easy to make - here's how! INGREDIENTS: -4-5 bacon strips -1 cup of flour -2 eggs -1 Tbsp corn starch -1 Tsp baking soda -1 1/4 cups of corn (frozen or from can) -1/2 cup of mayo -1/4 cup of honey -1/4 cup of yellow mustard -Salt/Pepper (optional) - I used bacon salt INSTRUCTIONS: FOR SAUCE: -Make the dipping sauce ahead of time. -Place the mayo, honey and mustard in a bowl -Add a dash of salt/pepper if you like -Mix together well, put in fridge for a few hours FOR FRITTERS: -Fry the bacon, drain on papertowel, set aside -Add the flour, eggs, corn, corn starch, baking soda, salt/pepper (bacon salt) and bacon in a food processor -Blend together well -Heat oil in pan to 350 degrees (I just added some oil to the bacon drippings pan) -Place dollops of the batter into the pan and fry both sides until golden brown. -Place on paper towel to drain -Platter them up, serve with the honey mustard dipping sauce ENJOY!

Destination Bacon had big fun at the 2021 BaCON Festival in Cleveland, TN. So many delicious foods, music/entertainment and arts/crafts vendors. We certainly enjoyed eating our way through it and meeting lots of nice folks that love bacon, too! Great to see old friends, too! Check it out!
Bacon Wrapped Sweet Mini Peppers with Cheese!
These mini peppers stuffed with cheese and wrapped in smoky delicious bacon will be a hit every time! 3 ingredients and a snap to make! Here's how; INGREDIENTS: -Your favorite bacon -Sweet mini peppers -Boursin garlic & herb cheese (or your fave spread) INSTRUCTIONS: -Wash your peppers, cut the tops off and cut in half -Remove the ribs and seeds -Stuff/schmear each pepper half with the soft cheese -Wrap each pepper with bacon -Secure with a toothpick if needed IF using the oven - preheat oven to 400 degrees IF using a grill - heat grill to medium heat -OVEN: Bake for 25-30 minutes on a baking sheet -GRILL: Place on grate and use indirect heat. Check after 25 minutes. -When done, plate, let cool and serve! SCRUMPTIOUS!
Bacon Breakfast Roll Ups! Great morning meal packed with flavor and will stick to your ribs!
We made these delicious breakfast roll ups. Would make a great snack , too! You can alter the ingredients to put in your favorite veggies or seasonings! Here's how we made ours; INGREDIENTS: -8 strips of bacon -3 eggs -Onion - about a 1/4 diced -Red bell pepper - about a quarter diced -1 Tbsp garlic powder -1/2 Tsp Salt -Black pepper to taste -1 or 2 Tbsp of milk -Some shredded cheese DIRECTIONS: -Layer/overlap 4 strips of bacon for your first roll up -Make the second one and set aside -Dice the onions and pepper and sautee them in a fry pan -In a small bowl, add the 3 eggs -Add the garlic powder, salt, pepper and milk and wisk -Add the egg mixture right to the pan -Scramble eggs until fluffy -Let mixture cool and then lay on top of your bacon strips -Add cheese to the top of the mixture -Carefully roll up the bacon strips -Lay your roll ups in a fry pan at medium-high heat -Keep turning the roll ups over to cook all sides -Remove once you have your desired level of crispiness -Serve and enjoy!
Low carb! Keto! Bacon Cheddar Cheese Balls!
Just 3 simple ingredients to make this yummy snack/appetizer. Would also be a good schmeer for your bagels or stuff these babies inside a chicken pocket and bake! SO many uses! Here's how to make them; INGREDIENTS: -1 pound of bacon -8 oz of softened cream cheese -4 to 8oz of shredded sharp cheddar cheese DIRECTIONS: -Let the cream cheese soften at room temperature -Fry up the bacon and crumble into small bits -Take a bowl and mix the cream cheese and cheese together. Mix well. -Make small balls and then roll them over the bacon bits -You can place in the fridge to set or serve and enjoy immediately! It's that simple!
How to Make Sweet Hawaiian Chicken Bacon Ranch Crescent Bites
Super easy and delicious snack (or meal) for the whole family! We love this one. Found it on the Pillsbury recipe site. Try it! INGREDIENTS: -1/2 cup of cooked chicken (chopped) -3 strips of bacon (cooked and chopped) -1/2 cup of your fave cheese (shredded) -1/4 cup of your fave ranch dressing -1 8 oz can of the Pillsbury Sweet Hawaiian crescent rolls -1 to 2 green onions (thinly sliced) INSTRUCTIONS: -Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees -Mix the chicken, bacon ,cheese and ranch dressing in a bowl -Unroll the crescent dough on a cutting board and flatten it out. -Squeeze the seams together so there are no more perforations. -Take a knife and divide the rectangle into 9 - 12 pieces. -Place a scoop of the chicken mixture in the middle of each square. -Sprinkle some green onions on top. -Fold the 4 corners together - squeeze to enclose the square. -Place on a baking sheet and bake for 13 minutes, or so. Until golden brown. -Remove from oven, cool, transfer to a platter and enjoy with some more ranch dressing as a dip!
