Destination Bacon is traveling the country to find the most delicious bacon dishes at restaurants/diners, pubs, bakeries and festivals. We are also making tasty bacon recipes and sharing them with you so you can be in "hog heaven", too!
Bacon Mozzarella Sticks
Oooh a crispy bacon coating on these mozzarella sticks makes this a yummy treat for all! INGREDIENTS: -8 to 10 strips of bacon -8 to 10 mozzarella sticks -1 Cup of panko -1 Tbsp of dried parsley -1 Tsp of garlic powder -2 Eggs beaten -Oil for frying DIRECTIONS: -Fry bacon until crisp, blot on paper towels and let cool -Combine the Panko, Parsley Flakes & Garlic Powder in a bowl -Once bacon is cool, put in a food processor to create bacon bits -Combine bacon bits with the panko mixture -Beat 2 eggs in a bowl (or something long enough to hold cheese sticks -Dip cheese sticks in egg bath, then roll in the panko, bacon mix -Coat well, place on a sheet/tray -Once all coated, place coated cheese sticks in the freezer for at least 2 hours -After frozen solid, heat a pan of oil to 350 degrees -Fry until golden brown -Let cool, serve and enjoy!

The Kaiser Tiger does not disappoint. Declicious bacon, sausage and beer. What more could you want? Oh, you want a beer garden (in the summer) and a curling rink (in the winter)? Well they have that, too! Large menu with many delicious and just plain eye catching food. Who doesn't want a pretty plate? This place will check all of your bacon, sausage and beer boxes! A must try!
How to Make Bacon Jalapeno Meatballs
Bacon Jalapeno Meatballs Ingredients: -1 pound of ground turkey or lean ground beef -2 ounces of cream cheese -3 or 4 slices of bacon -2 or 3 jalapenos -1/2 cup of panko -4 garlic cloves -1/2 cup of Mexican cheese blend -1 Tbsp of oregano -1 Tsp of chili powder -1 Tsp of salt -1/2 Tsp fresh black pepper -1 Tsp of onion powder -1/2 Tsp of smoked paprika Instructions: -Preheat oven to 350 degrees -Mix all of the ingredients in a large bowl -Line a cookie sheet with foil or use cooking spray on the baking sheet -Roll into meatballs -Bake for 20 minutes of so (depending upon meatball size) -Serve with a ranch or sesame soil dip or just by themselves ENJOY!

BLT Pasta Skillet
Wow! This was simple and delicious! Easy clean up - all in one skillet! INGREDIENTS: -Kosher salt -8 oz of pasta (rotini, fusilli, etc) -3 to 4 garlic cloves (sliced thin) -One 28-oz can, whole peeled tomatoes -1/4 Tsp crushed red pepper flakes -- 4 to 5 whole basil leaves (torn) -2 to 4 cups of spinach (torn) -1/2 cup part-skim ricotta cheese -8 oz part-skim mozzarella (cubed) DIRECTIONS: -Preheat over to 400 degrees -Boil a large pot of salted water -Cook pasta to directions (reserve 1 cup of pasta water) -Fry up your bacon, drain on paper towel -Saute your garlic slices in the bacon grease -Hand crush the tomatoes and juices add to skillet -Add the 1 cup of pasta water -Add crushed red pepper, basil and salt -Let sauce thicken, then add spinach. Stir and let wilt -Mix the ricotta and parmesan cheese in a small bowl -Drop spoonfuls of it in the skillet -Drop in the mozzarella cubes -Sprinkle your bacon all over -Bake until bubbly - 15 to 20 minutes -Garnish with more fresh basil after removing from oven Serve and enjoy!
